Is Superhuman worth it in 2026?

Superhuman's pitch is simple: if you spend hours a day in email, making every action instant saves more time than the subscription costs. For some people that's true. For a lot of Mac users in 2026, it isn't any more.

What you're paying for

Superhuman Starter is $30 a month, or $300 a year billed yearly. You get:

• A very fast inbox you can run entirely from the keyboard
• A split inbox that separates important mail from the rest
• AI summaries and reply drafting, running in the cloud
• Apps for Mac, Windows, the web, iPhone and Android
• Gmail and Outlook support

When Superhuman is worth it

• You use Outlook or Microsoft 365. Most fast, keyboard-first alternatives are Gmail-first.
• You need the same app on Windows, iPhone and Android.
• Your company pays, and your team uses its shared features.
• You want the biggest cloud AI for long, open-ended writing, and don't mind your mail being processed on a server.

When it isn't

• You're on a Mac with Gmail or iCloud. You can get the same keyboard speed from a native Mac app, without a monthly bill.
• You're paying yourself. $300 a year is $900 over three years, for email.
• You'd rather your mail stayed private. Superhuman's AI needs your email on its servers.
• You mostly want a sorted inbox. Sorting and one-line summaries don't need a big cloud model any more. Apple's on-device AI handles them well.

The Mac alternative we built
